Privacy policy

Citemark tracks how AI assistants answer questions about your product. We collect as little as we can to do that, and you can take your data out or delete it yourself at any time.
What we store
- Your account: email address, name if your sign-in provider shares it, and your timezone. No passwords: you sign in with an email link or Google.
- What you track: your domain, brand names, competitors, the questions you add, and the facts you enter about your product.
- What the AI engines answered: the answer text, the model version, the brands named and the pages cited. Answers can mention other companies; we keep them as research data for your dashboard and don't republish them.
- Free tools: the domain you check, a hashed IP address and device fingerprint for rate limits, and your email only if you choose to save a report.
- Usage events (for example “signed up”, “opened the dashboard”) so we can see which parts of the product work. No advertising trackers.
Who processes it
Supabase (database and sign-in), Cloudflare (hosting), Resend (email), Dodo Payments (checkout and billing, as merchant of record: they hold your payment details, we never see your card), and optionally PostHog (product analytics).
To answer your tracked questions we send the question text, never your account details, to OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, Perplexity and a search-results provider.
Your controls
From your account page you can export everything we hold about your account as a JSON file, and delete your account. Deleting removes your projects, questions, stored answers, scores and alerts, and your usage events, straight away.
Every alert and report email has a one-click unsubscribe for that kind of email only.
How long we keep it
Your data stays while your account exists. If you cancel a paid plan, your account drops to the Free plan and your full history stays readable for 90 days after the paid period ends; nothing is deleted when a trial or subscription ends.
When you delete your account, the data goes with it. Backups roll over within 30 days.
Account emails (sign-in links, receipts, the alerts and reports you set up) are separate from product news. We only send product news after you opt in and confirm by clicking the link we email you, and you can stop it with one click.
Cookies
A sign-in session cookie, and a first-visit cookie that remembers which free tool or page brought you here, for 30 days, so we know which tools are useful. That's all.
